A nett 59 from the linear approach to wedge play!

Had a great email come through to Gary Smith, the coach in our Short and Long Game app videos….makes for some inspiring reading, and if your short game and wedge play is holding you back, you need the app too!

Hi Gary This is sort of a written thank you I guess! I purchased your iPad apps a few months ago now and have being trying to incorporate the linear approach into my short game as I have a woeful wedge game and it has really being holding me back as my long game is very solid. I have also made changes to my chipping and bunker play that are paying off big time, I have chipped in more in the past two months than I have in the previous 7 years! And my bunker play is also much much better. I feel far more confident around the greens now. My wedges are also coming on but I am going to get a booking sorted with you when I can get down from Yorkshire as they are the main area I want to improve as it my Achilles heal. The reason for the thank you (and the essay ;) ) Is that I have just shot a gross 60 around my home course this weekend in our captains weekend competition for a nett 59 (The course par and SSS are both 71) and am entirely convinced that your coaching videos and methods are largely responsible for this and my subsequent reduction to almost +1. Thanks again Gary and I hope to see you in person very soon on the practice ground.

There is also an article on his club’s website here: http://dewsburygolf.co.uk/news/newsdetail.asp?news_id=126. A putt for a 59, not many people in the world can say that (at least not on their 18th hole!).

It’s Open week this week as well, one of the great golf weeks of the year…who do you fancy to be lifting the Claret Jug on Sunday? If you’re like me then it will inspire you to get on the golf course, or out practising. The driving range was certainly much busier on Monday than usual if that is an indication.

Good golfing,
Andrew
